Privacy Policy
1. Overview
WinCode 98 ("the App", "we", "our") is a mobile idle game developed as a solo indie project. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This App is designed to function entirely offline and on-device. We do not operate servers, do not require accounts, and do not transmit your data anywhere.
2. Data We Collect
The App collects anonymous usage data via Firebase Analytics and shows ads via Google AdMob. EU/EEA users must explicitly consent before any data is collected. Users outside EU/EEA have analytics and ads enabled by default and can opt out at any time โ see Section 7.
The App does not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Your location
- Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- Your browsing history or behavior on other apps or websites
- Any biometric, health, or sensitive data
- Any payment information (the App does not currently include in-app purchases)
Regarding advertising identifiers: the device's IDFA (Identifier for Advertisers) is accessible only if you grant permission via the iOS "Allow Tracking" (ATT) prompt. If you decline or have not been prompted, the IDFA is not accessible to the App or to any SDK.
The only data generated locally by the App is your local game save, which records your in-game progress. See Section 3.
3. Local Storage
The App saves your game progress locally on your device as a JSON file. This file contains only game-related data:
- In-game currency and experience points
- Player level and rank
- Upgrade and skill levels
- Task and achievement progress
- Energy state and timestamps (stored in UTC to calculate offline income)
- In-game settings (sound, music, vibration toggles)
- A randomly generated local player ID used solely to identify your save file โ this ID is never transmitted anywhere
This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to any server, not shared with any third party, and not accessible by us. If you delete the App, all local save data is permanently removed.
4. Third-Party Services
The App integrates two Google services. Activation depends on your region:
- EU/EEA users: both services require explicit consent via the Google consent form shown on first launch. Nothing is collected before you agree.
- Users outside EU/EEA: Firebase Analytics and AdMob are enabled by default. You can opt out at any time โ see Section 7.
4.1 Firebase Analytics (Google)
Firebase Analytics collects anonymous in-game events โ such as levels completed, actions taken, and session duration. No personally identifiable information is included. This service is enabled only after you consent and can be disabled at any time in Settings โ Analytics.
Firebase Analytics data is processed by Google LLC. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
4.2 Google AdMob
The App shows rewarded video ads via Google AdMob. Watching a rewarded ad is always optional and triggered only by your choice.
- With ATT permission (iOS "Allow Tracking" prompt accepted): AdMob may use your IDFA to serve personalized ads.
- Without ATT permission: AdMob serves non-personalized ads only; the IDFA is not accessed.
AdMob is operated by Google LLC. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.
5. Apple App Store
The App is distributed through the Apple App Store. Apple may collect certain data independently when you download or purchase apps โ such as your Apple ID, device identifiers, and purchase history. This data collection is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours. We have no access to this data.
6. EU/EEA Users & GDPR
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) โ a consent form that appears on first launch. It lets you choose whether to allow Firebase Analytics and personalized advertising before any data is collected.
You can review or change your consent choices at any time via Settings โ Privacy Options inside the App. Withdrawing consent stops all data collection immediately; previously collected anonymous analytics data may remain subject to Google's retention policy (see Section 9).
7. How to Withdraw Consent
You can withdraw or adjust consent through any of these methods:
- EU/EEA users: Settings โ Privacy Options inside the App โ opens the Google UMP consent form.
- All users (analytics): Settings โ Analytics โ toggle off to stop Firebase Analytics collection.
- All users (ad tracking): iOS Settings โ Privacy & Security โ Tracking โ WinCode 98 โ disable to revoke ATT permission; AdMob will switch to non-personalized ads.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ on the Apple App Store and is appropriate for all ages.
The App does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Firebase Analytics and Google AdMob do not receive any data without explicit user consent โ meaning no data is collected from any user (including children) unless they actively agree to it. No account creation is required at any age.
9. Data Retention
Anonymous event data collected by Firebase Analytics is retained according to Google's default retention policy โ 14 months from the time of collection. After this period, data is automatically deleted from Google's systems.
Your local game save data is stored on your device indefinitely until you reset progress or uninstall the App.
To request deletion of any analytics data associated with your App use, contact us at kremenchuksh@gmail.com.
10. Your Rights
For any anonymous analytics data collected via Firebase (where you gave consent), you may request access, correction, or deletion by contacting us. Because the data is anonymous, we may not be able to identify records belonging to a specific individual without additional information.
Your local game save data is stored entirely on your own device and is under your full control:
- To delete your data: Use the "Reset Progress" option in the App's Settings screen, or uninstall the App.
- To back up your data: Use your device's standard backup features (iCloud device backup).
If you have questions about data that Apple may hold in connection with App Store downloads, please contact Apple directly.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when new features are added. Changes will be published here and reflected in the App Store update notes before taking effect.
Continued use of the App after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If changes are material, we will make reasonable effort to notify you through the App Store update description.
The effective date at the top of this document reflects when it was last updated.
